     * Mercury went Retrograde on February 23, 2013.  It goes Direct on March 17, 2013. If you are unfamiliar with the Mercury Retrograde cycle, these two articles, Beggs n' Econ and Bumbled Articulation, will explain what Mercury Retrograde creates in a person's life and what needs to be learned.

Just a brief brush-up about the Mercury Retrograde cycle. Mercury, the planet which governs the full spectrum of communication, will create the feeling of being tongue-tied, difficulty getting your idea or point across, trouble listening and remembering, general misunderstandings, schedule changes, short tempers, irritability, general nervousness, temporarily misplacing tems, and being inattentive or distracted.

And because misunderstandings are so common during a Mercury Retrograde cycle and because we change our mind about some of our decisions, it is best to avoid making major purchases, signing contracts or making commitments during a Mercury Retrograde cycle.

On the plus side of a Mercury Retrograde cycle, all of us are more introverted because it becomes too difficult to carry on a good conversation.  This introversion creates several good things!  They are the time and quiet to search the heart and mind for self-sabotaging emotions, habits or thoughts; repeated mulling over of experiences, allowing the truth of the experience to be seen in order to see the lesson in it; reviewing of goals as well as the path to achieve them; and the passion or energy to finish projects.

So, enjoy your quiet time with yourself, finish a project or perhaps start planning your veggie/flower garden.

This year, as every year, start your veggies under the different phases of the moon because the plants are reaching for the light of the moon but they each reach for it in a different way.  Your root vegetables or the veggies grown under the soil such as beets, carrots, and potatoes should be started or planted when the moon is new or March 11, 2013.  And the up-top vegetables or the veggies grown above the soil such as cabbage, pumpkins, and tomatoes, should be started or planted when the moon is full or March 27, 2013.

If you would like additional information about the Mercury Retrograde cycle or sun sign gardening, details may be found in the books, The Best of Miss Dee and Health, Astrology, and Spirituality.  Additional health related helpful reading are the booklets, "Thoughts on Health,"  "Thoughts on Being Cherished," and "Thoughts on Relationships," of the Warm Fuzzies series, by Miss Dee.  Please see the Books page.
